Alan & Eleanor Kreider

Alan & Eleanor Kreider
Biography:

Alan and Eleanor Kreider’s entire lives have been immersed in mission and worship. Both grew up among missionaries, in Japan and India respectively. Their academic studies took them in divergent directions—Alan to English Reformation history (Harvard Ph.D.) and Eleanor to piano performance (Michigan M.Mus.). But after completing their studies, they joined forces as Mennonite missionary teachers in England, where they lived for thirty years and found their interests overlapping.

Since 2000 Eleanor and Alan have lived in Elkhart, Indiana, which has been their base for teaching assignments throughout North America and in many countries. Alan has been professor of church history and mission at Associated Mennonite Biblical Seminary. Both have continued to write books and articles. Representative titles are (Eleanor) Communion Shapes Character (Herald Press, 1997), (Alan) Worship and Evangelism in Pre-Christendom (Grove Books, 1995), and together with Paulus Widjaja, A Culture of Peace: God’s Vision for the Church (Good Books, 2005).
